Cook County is the most populous country in the U.S. state of Illinois and the second-most populous county in the United States with a very long and interesting history. I was allowed the opportunity to work on this project as the sole designer - the content and information came from a great team of archivists.
I was tasked with remastering some of the very old photographs of the County Recorders which barely survived a flood that happened in Chicago City Hall decades prior. That and the allotted space (a 15-foot wall on the first floor) were the most challenging aspects of this project as the palette was pre-determined. I managed to keep the visual and typographical hierarchy strong amongst the space constraints and managed to shift some images in a non-static way. The piece was well received and featured in an unveiling with some of the most prominent public figures of Chicago and Cook County at the time.
