The city of Zagreb has a magnificent coffee culture and an old Austro-Hungarian vibe that somehow meshes with 21st-century urbanism quite well. This project was inspired by specifically that blend of urban coffee culture and historic city vibes and regality.
The uniqueness had to be done in its own specific custom type which was inspired by the typeface “London” and several old typefaces I found on posters from the city's archives from the early 19th century. The colour palette is based on the Sestin Umbrella which is a common symbol of the city and is found throughout the streets and in old folklore costumes. I included a portion of the mood board below for you to see. The castle mark itself is a redone version of the city crest.
